About this Site
The original site was built and maintained
by Gary Nuttall, one of the club's instructor team, and the club is very grateful
for the time and effort that Gary gave to this cause. However, Gary moved away
from the area with his job and the site, although still sitting in cyberspace
was well out of date.
Martin Reynolds was keen to ensure that the club
had an active presence on the internet to hopefully introduce people to the sport
of gliding and to inform potential members. It could also help keep the current
membership, plus old members and friends, informed about the goings on in the
club.
Having searched around at various web hosting companies, the best solution
and cost effective package was provided by ukhost4u.com. The domain name was also
purchased and registered through them. Hosting is through
www.34sp.com Although he had a basic knowledge of HTML,
to save time and get the site up and running he used Microsoft's Frontpage 2002
to build the site. His hopes were to get a team of members to take on the responsibility
of maintaining, updating, expanding and improving the site.
Due to work commitments he have handed over the update and re-design
of this site to Darren Moloney. A past member, he is a professional web
designer - blantant plug:
All Things Web
He had high hopes for the site with increased levels
of traffic, online database functionality and member logins etc
Dave Mansfield has now taken over from Darren and has made a few adjustments to the menu bar, and tries hard to keep the Site as up to date as possible,
using Microsoft Expression Web for editing the site.
